Work scope:
Sub-project Central Building West (SBV) comprises of several contracts of which contract P-72221 is the second. Prior to this, contract P-72220 has executed some preparatory works, including demolition and ground works. Please note that contract P-72220 will have works in progress, comprising of demolition of gates 19, 21, and 23, simultaneously with initiation of this contract P-72221.

This contract involves foundation and concrete works in connection with construction of SBV. These works comprises initially of excavation works, mass haulage and sheet piling. The contract shall also include all in situ concrete structures for SBV, as well as pre-fabricated steel and concrete structures.

The contract shall also execute larger provisional works.
This will involve construction of a “house-in-house” which shall protect passenger traffic in the existing Railway station. The “house-in-house” shall be constructed without interference in the passenger flow and a lot of works during night time must therefore be expected.

The contract shall also shall execute demolition/ disassembly of roofs and slabs in the existing railway station, demolition of the Water and Sewage installations and cables in ground, as well as rig works for own and other contracts. Roof and façade structures in SBV and the Railway station shall be executed in another contract. Pre-fabricated concrete structures in the Central Building West will also be carried out in another contract; 72222. Transfer of the pre-fabrication contract 72222 to 72221 will be considered.

A considerable amount of works in relation to foundation works and concrete structures shall be executed. The concrete structures comprise mainly of load bearing columns, walls, slabs and shafts for SBV in 9 levels. The total gross area of SBV is approx. 55 000 m

Interface and relation to other contracts:
This contract has interface to the existing Railway station which will influence the execution and general interface to normal traffic management and operation of Oslo Airport.

Further relevant information of interface to the Railway station is as follows:
An interface in the slab on level 2 must be coordinated with a view to passenger traffic to and from platform during establishment of provisional house, as well as during heavy works above the provisional house.
Provisional house means that a steel framework with roof and facades shall be constructed inside the building in order to maintain the passenger traffic between the existing Railway station and the Terminal. In connection with this, some works must be expected to be carried out during night time due to safety reasons. It will also be a strong focus on safety through the entire implementation of the contract.

It is emphasised that the contract will contain some supplier engineering design with total liability for prefabrication of steel and concrete which shall be assembled above the Railway station.
The works will mainly be executed on the land side/white side outside the CSRA border (security border) at the airport, but with close interface to the border, in periods inside the border. The Awarding Authority will therefore require special requirements for security clearance and measures. The contractor will have access to joint housing rig for the T2 project, which shall be carried out in a separate contract.
