Norsk Tipping would like tenders for support and maintenance for IBM software, as well as any procurement of additional licences for already procured software.
Norsk Tipping has a comprehensive portfolio of applications which it has partly developed itself and which is partly based on commercially available software. In total this portfolio makes up a particularly important part of the enterprise. The applications in this portfolio use to a large degree software from different suppliers and a relatively large percent of this type of software is products from IBM.
In the short term it is not practically possible or desirable to make major replacements of the standard software which forms the basis of Norsk Tipping’s systems, and this means that there will be a need for this software which is currently installed and which makes up central parts of Norsk Tipping’s system portfolio for several years into the future.
The aim of this procurement is to ensure the necessary support and maintenance for software from IBM which is included in these applications which are critical for the enterprise. Some further development of these applications is continually carried out and this means, among other things, that there is a need for more licences for the existing software. The additional procurement will also be included in the contract.
Emphasis will be put on getting a contract which ensures predictable and acceptable costs for IBM’s software in the contract period with one service provider who can ensure Norsk Tipping optimal framework conditions both as regards support and maintenance, additional procurement of licences, and other relevant services related to IBM’s software, such as, for example, access to special competence.
Norsk Tipping has software from most of IBM’s software families, but most of the software is sorted under either Rational, Tivoli or the Websphere software families.
