The objective of the procurement is to contribute to ensure safe food from small livestock meat can be approved as human food even though the livestock have pastured in areas with radioactivity. When the livestock is fed geese salt (Berlin blue), the radioactive substance Cesium is not absorbed in muscles and tissues in the animal and the meat is suitable for human food.
The animals will get access to giese salt by adding the substance in the salt licking stone or in grain feed. Knowledge to the products and security of supplies are vital in connection with this procurement. The products which shall be delivered, stored and distributed will have significance for national food safety and for the economy for agriculture businesses.
The Awarding Authority shall therefore enter into a framework agreement for production, delivery and storage of salt licking stones added with giese salt (Berlin blue) as well as production and delivery of giese salt (Berlin blue) for adding to grain feed in accordance with annex 1, the Awarding Authority’s requirement specification.
The procurement also includes storage and distribution of salt licking stones with option for storage and distribution of giese salt as additive to grain feed. Storage and distribution shall be conducted so that the products’ are ensured best possible durability.

The total extent for the total agreement period is approx. 12 000 salt licking stones and approx. 600 kg giese salt as additive to grain feed.The procurement also includes storage and distribution of salt licking stones with option for storage and distribution of giese salt as additive to grain feed. The distribution of salt licking stones includes invoicing for the wholesale stage in accordance with ordering and crediting of the Awarding Authority. Compare annex 1, the Awarding Authority’s requirement specifications.
