Bergen kommune

Approx. 7000 tons salt (sea salt/rock salt) shall be delivered from silos for use in winter maintenance of municipal roads for the winter season (Oct – April). It is assumed that there will be access to the salt 24 hours a day throughout the winter season. Salt which is used shall be registered with ID, weight, date and time. The reports of the amount used must be in digital form. Good capacity and good access is required for loading large vehicles (lorries).

Taking care of the outer environment:

Systems and routines are required which support the aim of a low impact on the environment when carrying out the delivery.

Documentation shall be given in one of the following ways:

1. Description of the company’s routines and systems connected to waste, transport, handling chemicals and procurements.

2. If the routines are described in the company’s quality or environment management system in accordance with ISO 14001 or equivalent third party verified system, the valid certificate and a copy of the relevant routines shall be enclosed.

Quality assurance requirements – general.

The assignment requires that suppliers have systems for quality assurance and an efficient flow of goods.

1. Description of the company’s routines for quality assurance, with an emphasis on quality assurance, resource management, the management’s responsibility, manufacturing process and continual analysis and improvement.

2. If the supplier has an ISO 9001:2000 certificate, it can be enclosed.

Capacity, location and stand-by.

The assignment requires good capacity and good access for loading large vehicles (lorries).

7000 tons road salt is to be delivered from silos which are centrally located in Bergen municipality.

The supplier is required to have a stand-by service for silo stops, so that the gritting lorries can be filled continuously. The interruption for silo stops shall not be longer than 30 minutes. This includes time to and from the tanking location and time at the actual tanking location.

Rota or similar for turnouts for operational stops, distance between the residence of the person on duty and the stores/silo (kilometres as well as time in normal traffic and in rush hour).

Description with text and/or drawings of the conditions which describe tanking and the tanking site. Tenderers must otherwise describe the capacity, location and stand-by criteria in the best way which gives a basis for the awarding authority’s evaluation.
