2015-04-21 The establishment of a support filling U-864 (Kystverket (The Norwegian Coastal Administration))
Approx. 2 NM west of Fedje in Hordaland County, the German submarine U-864 was sunk by the British submarine Venturer. This took place 9.2.1945. The submarine was heading to Japan with different war load, i.e. 1,857 containers with mercury that were stored in the keel of the submarine. Due to the torpedo attack, the submarine U-864 was divided in to sections and sunk to a depth of 145-160 metres.
