Helse og omsorgsdepartementet [the Ministry of Health and Care Services] has given Helsedirektoratet [the Norwegian Directorate of Health] the assignment of describing a model for how the emergency medical care offered in the municipality can be organised in the future. The aim is to ensure a sustainable and justifiable local emergency medical service in areas where the current service experiences challenges.
