The contracting authority has a unilateral option to extend the contract for up to two (2) years. The Contracting Authority has an obligation to exercise the option to extend the operating period for the Route Area in question by a further five years if the conditions set out in clause 1.3.5 of the Contract Terms are met.

Vilkår for deltakelse
Egnethet til å utøve yrkesvirksomheten:
Requirement: The tenderer must be registered in a company register, professional register or a trade register in the country where the tenderer is established. Documentation requirement: Company registration certificate.
Økonomisk og finansiell stilling:
1. Requirement: Tenderers must have their tax, employer contribution and VAT payments in order. Documentation requirement: Tax certificate. The tax certificate must not be older than 6 months at the deadline for submitting a request for participation in the contest. Any arrears or other irregularities must be justified.

2. Requirement: Tenderers must have sufficient economic and financial capacity to fulfil the contract. Documentation requirement: Board-approved annual accounts - with the auditor's report, the board's report, and the annual report for the last three years, or other documentation that documents the tenderer's solidity in a satisfactory way. For Norwegian tenderers: The contracting authority will obtain a credit rating of the company.

For foreign tenderers: A credit rating based on the last known fiscal figures must be attached from a recognised credit rating agency.
Teknisk og faglig kapasitet:
1. Requirement: Tenderers shall have adequate capacity to execute the contract. Documentation requirement: Requirements on experience must be documented by completing the attached reference overview, cf. 'Prosedyrereglene' ('the Procedure rules') Annex 5 'Oversikt over oppdrag' ('Overview of assignments').

2. Requirement: Tenderers must have a satisfactory management system that fulfils all safety and quality requirements in the tender offer. The management system must be implemented and operational, and must be able to be adapted to the content of the contract. Documentation requirement: Document of Compliance, - Certificate of Approval for the shipping company - issued by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate, as well as a temporary certificate Brief description of the management system, preferably in the form of a table of contents.
