The centre's institutions contribute to maintaining Norway's position as an outstanding manager of the environment and natural resources in the north. Using research as a foundation, we disseminate knowledge to public administration, businesses and the general public. The centre contributes to strengthening the link between research and education. We are an important arena both nationally and internationally and provide input on climate-related issues. An important part of the concept of the Fram Centre is to develop interdisciplinary collaboration and networks and to be a national and international meeting place for academic communities, politicians, businesses, education and the general public in the field of climate and the environment. Canteen services and shared meeting places in the Fram Centre will be an important building block from this perspective.

It is preferable that the tenderer can demonstrate an environmental profile that supports the centre's professional profile through the products offered and in its operation. This is reflected in the requirements set forth in the requirement specifications. In terms of building technology, the Fram Centre is not designed for food preparation in areas other than the canteen areas, which means that there is a need for a well-functioning and attractive canteen solution. The tenderer of the canteen must be competitive in terms of price and quality, and the price should be moderate and at a similar level to comparable canteens (see more about pricing in Annex 7 - Product and price form).
