Milk and milk products for production kitchens. The units included in the agreement are able to purchase locally produced food from Vestland County outside the agreement, provided that the goods are purchased directly from the manufacturer or from sales locations that exclusively sell locally produced food. Procurements from grocery chains or outlets with mixed product range are not included in the exception. There are separate contracts for the deliveries of groceries, fish products, meat products, fruits and vegetables to the production kitchen, as well as food products for service places with food production and to nurseries and schools in household packages. Cheese, butter and other dairy products for production kitchens are sold on the contract for groceries.

Kvalitetskriterium (navn): The production of dairy products carries significant climate emissions. In addition, the production requires considerable water and soil resources that can be at the cost of natural diversity, including through deforestation, and the use of chemicals that burden the ecosystem. Plastic packaging is based on oil production and can emit microplastics to nature, while distribution also involves emissions. Another big challenge is food waste. In order to limit the impact of the environment, Bergen municipality sets a number of minimum requirements in the competition: * Tenderers shall work towards food waste * There are requirements for sustainable palm oil in the power * Environmental requirements regarding goods delivery and packaging are set. Through the above mentioned minimum requirements, we secure a contract where environmental considerations are not trumped by a lower price, as the result could have been if the components had rather been altered into award criteria. We consider the market to be mature for the described minimum requirements and expect that most tenderers will be able to fulfil the requirements. The minimum requirement for climate and environment means that Bergen municipality believes to fulfil the requirements in the procurement regulation § 7-9.
