The procurement is for Aure and Smøla municipalities. The municipalities have joint veterinary duty services in a joint duty district. The security guard area is administered by Aure municipality. The municipalities of Aure and Smøla receive grants for veterinary duty from the state. This grant covers a single veterinary duty guard in the duty district throughout all of the year's 12 months. The municipalities shall ensure sufficient veterinary coverage within the duty district. A veterinary surgeon in each municipality shall as a minimum be located in the duty district, this is due to topographic challenges. The only connection between the municipalities is by ferry or express boat. This competition is for a new tender round for a contract for veterinary duty services, which initially applies from 01.08.2026 to 31.12.2030 with an option for up to two years. The start date for the tender round is 01.02.2026

Hovedtrekk ved prosedyren:

1. A description of the service that shall provide the Veterinary service in the duty scheme is obligated to carry out the service in accordance with the requirements in the Act of 15 June 2001 no. 75 on veterinary surgeons and other animal health personnel (animal health personnel act). Participants in the duty veterinary duty shall be available, prepared to provide without undue delay: Fulfil the relief obligation in accordance with the Animal Health Personnel Act § 14.Provide the necessary veterinary help within the duty district for animal health, animal protection or nutritional considerations. Safeguard public interests, including carry out imposed or voluntary individual services for the public against the agreed remuneration. Veterinary surgeons without duty, who do not take the assignment themselves, shall refer enquiries to the duty veterinary surgeon. The veterinary surgeon shall notify the municipality if he/she no longer fulfils the terms for participation.
