Technical lift services include ongoing maintenance, periodic security checks and emergency error recovery on installations that are critical for both personal safety and availability in buildings. To ensure continuity, predictability and efficient use of resources, a basic period of three years is required. This gives the tenderer sufficient time to establish routines, develop site knowledge and ensure stable operation.
At the same time, three annual options have been added (1+1+1 year) to take care of flexibility if technological changes occur, need for alterations or changes in the market. This combination gives a total possible length of six years, but with annual assessment points which ensure that the contract is still appropriate and cost effective.
The total length is therefore necessary and proportionate for the safe operation of lifts, at the same time it gives the contracting authority control and the possibility to adjust the contract during the process.
