The DSA has a long-standing history of enhancing core security, radiation protection and regulatory frameworks through its regulatory cooperation program, which has supported regulatory authorities in Europe and Central Asia for over 25 years. The regulatory cooperation programme plays an important role in strengthening nuclear regulation institutions, promoting best practice and ensuring adaptations to international security standards. The consultant will be an integrated part of the regulatory cooperation programme, which supports DSA i-Development, Review and Implementation of regulatory frameworks within nuclear security, radiation protection, waste management, downsizing and stand-by.-Provides regulatory support and advisory services to national authorities, and assists them in establishing and improving their legal and institutional frameworks for nuclear and radiation security.- Facilitating regulatory regulatory security. cooperation with authorities in several countries and ensure harmonisation with the IAEA, ICRP, NEA and EU security standards and recommendations.- To build zoning capacity by developing training programmes, workshops and guidance material adapted to the needs of partner regulating authorities.- Carrying out regulation assessments and peer assessments, identifying gaps in existing regulations and giving recommendations for improvement.- Supporting the development of strategic regulation guidelines, ensuring consistency with international security principles and best practice. Engage in bilateral and multilateral cooperation, promote regulatory resilience through knowledge exchange and cooperation with IAEA, NEA, EC, EBRD and other international bodies. Consultancy services for new regulatory challenges, including regulatory adaptations in conflict-stricken regions and new nuclear programmes. The Consultant's work will be decisive in ensuring that national regulating authorities are well equipped to deal with nuclear security challenges, strengthen their institutional capacities and effectively implement international security standards. The Consultant will work externally, but can travel as needed for meetings, assessments and training activities.
