The Norwegian Directorate of Health would like to enter into a framework agreement with one tenderer for the delivery of vitamin D preparation to infants. Tenderers shall be able to deliver to all of the country's health centres, which in 2024 make up approx. 542 health centres in the country's 356 municipalities.

Hovedtrekk ved prosedyren:

Background and goal of the procurement: The Directorate of Health and the National Council for Nutrition recommends that breast-feeding children aged 0-6 months with parents from Africa, Asia etc. should be offered free Vitamin D drops. Since 2006, the Ministry of Health and Care Services has financed such a scheme, via the Norwegian Directorate of Health, with distribution at the country's health centres. The aim of the scheme is to counteract vitamin D deficiency and prevent deficiency disease rickets, in a vulnerable group at high risk.
