In addition the contracting authority has a unilateral option to extend the contract by twelve months. This
the option applies both at the end of the original contract period and at the expiry of
any mutual contract extension as stated in the above section. If
the builder would like to extend the contract in accordance with this unilateral option, this must be
notification in writing to the contractor at the latest four months before the contract expires, whether this is
in accordance with the original contract period, or a mutually agreed prolonged period.
Extension of the contract means that the contract is continued in accordance with the contract ́s
provisions, and that the time and deadlines for hand over and final settlement are moved equivalently
in the future.
