The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research (the Contracting Authority) wishes to hire a combined ringnot/trawl vessel for estimation of the flask in western Ireland in the period 2025-2026. The contract will be valid from 01.01.2025 until and including 31.12.2026. The vessel must have a minimum 15 tonne annual quota for accumulate. The annual expedition shall take place for approx. 16 days within the period from 10 March to 10 April. The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research reserves the right to inspect the vessel and check the relevant documentation before signing the contract and before the start of the expedition.

Hovedtrekk ved prosedyren:

The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research shall measure the accumulation stock for 16 days, within the period from 10 March to 10 April. Subject to the necessary financial grants being given to the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research, the expedition length will be 16 days, but with an option to extend or shorten for up to 3 days. Date and time when the vessel shall be available for the Contracting Authority agreed between the expedition manager and shipowner for each year. The preparation of equipment and calibration of the vessel shall be carried out at the start of the expedition and included in the expedition period. The number of representatives from the tenant on board will be seven persons, possibly more if offered. The expedition shall be carried out as a trawlakustic survey with fixed course lines in the spawning area for flasks from the west of Ireland to the Faroe Islands. The expedition will be carried out in cooperation with the EU (vessels from Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain) and the Faroe Islands. Registrations will be trawled for sample taking of flasks (in the size order of 20-30 shorter trawl haulers in concentrations of collagen). In addition a hydrographic station with CTD and WPII shall be carried out at regular intervals in the survey area (approx. every 60 nautical miles). The port for starting and finishing expeditions is Bergen.Fuel shall be included in the stated 24 hour rate. Estimates for operational patterns are given for calculation of fuel consumption. The actual operational patterns can vary slightly according to how the expedition is set up by the international coordination group. The vessel covers slightly different areas each year and thus the transit time and survey time can vary. The set-up below must be seen as an example from previous years: The number of days in normal operation (acoustic coverage), with a speed of 10 knots: approx. 10 knots: Approx. 10 days in operation in transit, with a speed of 12 knots: approx. 4The number of days for station work (trawling, ctd, håv): approx. 2.The expeditions are carried out in accordance with the set-up and management of the Contracting Authority. The Captain shall instruct the crew that they shall follow instructions and carry out the work assignments, including rigging of tools and equipment, sample taking and marking, as the expedition leader or the person he authorised to give, as far as it is compatible with the operation of the vessel. It is captain who is responsible for ensuring that the work on board is carried out in a safe way and is responsible for the safety on board and it is a prerequisite that he and the crew find the work properly to carry out.
