NVE has announced a contest for the construction of avalanche protection in Vannledningsdalen in Longyeardalen. The protection measures will mainly consist of the construction of 14 modified flood slide nets that includes, amongst other things, drilling and plastering anchors, casting concrete/foundations for support, assembling supports, and avalanche nets. The site work also includes the construction of a minor mound along Vannledningsdal river with a dry wall front, raising parts of the existing mound along the east side of Vannledningsdal river, the establishment of a simple service road/site road past Funken Lodge hotel, as well as some terrain work in the river valley/river course.
