The hire of alternating pressure mattresses for the Helse Vest's [the Western Norway Regional Health Authority's] health trusts.
Helse Bergen [Bergen Hospital Trust], Helse Stavanger [Stavanger Hospital Trust] and Helse Fonna [Fonna Hospital Trust] shall enter into a hiring agreement.
The purchase of alternating pressure mattresses is included as a supplement to the agreement. Helse Førde [Førde Hospital Trust] shall not be included in the hiring agreement from the start of the agreement, but can enter the agreement for the purchase of mattresses. They may also enter into the hiring agreement later in the agreement period on the same terms as given in this invitation to tender and the contract documents.

The objective of the invitation to tender is to enter into an agreement for the hire of mattress tops and full mattresses with bedsore pressure prevention and treatment qualities (alternating pressure mattresses).
If the tenderer has Bariatric hospital bed mattresses for extra heavy patients, this may be included as a part of the agreement, but it is not a requirement that this must be offered to participate in the tender contest.
The purchase of mattresses as a supplement. Helse Førde [Førde Hospital Trust ] will enter this from the start of the agreement (an expected purchase of 4 mattresses in the first year, then approx. 2 mattresses per annum). The other trusts also can buy mattresses when needed. However, it is not expected that they will purchase mattresses to any great extent.
