Professional exams for doctors are currently a statutory additional requirement for doctors who apply for authorisation in Norway with education completed outside of the EU/EEA, and who have had their education assessed by the Directorate of Health.

The additional requirements are authorised in the regulation on additional requirements for authorisation for healthcare personnel with professional qualifications from countries outside the EEA and Switzerland (FOR-2016-12-19-1732), hereinafter called the regulation on additional requirements.

According to section 7 of the regulation on additional requirements, the Norwegian Directorate of Health has the authority to determine the content and procedure for testing the knowledge required for the specified groups of health personnel educated outside of the EEA.

The purpose of the professional exam is to measure whether the applicant has the applicable theoretical and practical knowledge and skills that are required in the Norwegian professional exam.

A contract will be signed with one tenderer.

Requirement 1: Tenderers must be registered in a company register, professional register or a trade register in the country where the tenderer is established.

Requirement 2: Tenderers must have an organisation that has good execution capacity to execute in accordance with the contract.

Requirement 3: Tenderers must have adequate quality assurance routines.

The qualification requirements are described in the tender documentation.
