Akershus universitetssykehus HF [Akerhus University Hospital Trust] will, as one of four new decentralised radiation centres, establish radiation treatment as a new offer. This will not be able to be accomplished without a new building. Initially in the concept phase study four alternatives for business content and will recommend one prior to commencement of feasibility studies in step 1.
Prompt commencement and sufficient capacity of all necessary resources at the contracting authority are assumed. The concept phase will be approved in the Board of the South Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority on 15 December 2022 (B3). It is anticipated the feasibility study will be completed before summer-vacation 2022.

The basis of the implementation is the Guide for the early phase in hospital construction projects. The assignment consists of the following main assignments: Preparation of solution alternatives (feasibility study, step 1) Preparation of draft project and other support to decision B3 (step 2) Solution alternatives will be developed in collaboration with employees and users from Akershus University Hospital Trust. This will include, among others, form and footprint for the building, floor descriptions, patient flow, placement of primary functions and logistics.

The new building, called the Cancer and Somatic Building, will house, amongst other things, functions for cancer diagnostics and treatment.
The building is provisionally estimated to be 15,000 - 25,000 m2 GFA (excluding parking). It is assumed the project content and scope will be clarified prior to commencement of the assignment. The assignment includes all architect and engineer services, as well as the necessary support resources required to carry out the work described in chapter 1.5 (see the tender provisions). The assignment scope (excluding options, see chapter 1.9 Options) is roughly estimated to be NOK 10 million. It is preferable that the architect has a leading role in the concept phase.
