The Arts Council Norway supports art and culture projects nationwide, carries out development work, and is an advisor for the government on cultural questions. The Arts Council Norway was founded in 1965. The entity currently consists of the Norwegian Culture Fund, the Government's Artist Stipend, the Fund for Audio and Pictures, and assignments connected to museum activities, R&D, creative industry, and international cooperation. The Arts Council Norway has approx. 130 employees in profession administration and has offices in Oslo, Bodø, and Trondheim. In addition to the employees in the profession administration, the Arts Council Norway consists of members in the council, management, and profession committee, which has approx. 260 members.
