Interpreter monitor: Public bodies' language need and compliance with the Interpretation Act

IMDi would like to have a good knowledge basis in order to offer knowledge based follow-up of public bodies and give guidance to them on compliance with the Interpretation Act, as well as insight into the need for interpretation in different languages. The contract is divided in two parts:
LAW: To what degree are the legal provisions in the Interpretation Act implemented and complied with by public bodies?
LANGUAGE: How great is public bodies' need for interpretation in different languages, and which languages should be prioritised for different qualification offers in interpretation?
The surveys carried out must be based on Agenda Kaupang's proposal for indicator measurements and data capture. The project will form the basis for policy development in the interpretation field, as well as the development of an accurate qualification offer in interpretation.

IMDi would like to have a good knowledge basis in order to be able to offer knowledge based follow-up of public bodies and give guidance to them on compliance with the Interpretation Act. Furthermore, IMDi would like insight into how great public bodies' need for interpretation is in different languages when contacting minority speaking inhabitants.

In order to cover these needs, the procurement has two parts
- Interpretation monitor LAW: To what degree are the legal provisions in the Interpretation Act implemented and complied with by public bodies?
- Interpretation monitor LANGUAGE: How great is public bodies' need for interpretation in different languages, and which languages should be prioritised for different qualification offers in interpretation?
Interpretation monitor LAW will form the basis for IMDi's guidance for public bodies on compliance with the Interpretation Act, as well as IMDi's guidance for the inspection authorities that inspect public bodies' compliance with the Interpretation Act.

Interpretation monitor LANGUAGE will form the basis for choosing languages for qualification offers and education offers, so that these are in accordance with the language needs. The overall aim is the best possible conditions so that public bodies can comply with the Interpretation Act, sections 6 and 7.

The surveys carried out must be based on Agenda Kaupang's proposal for indicator measurements and data capture. Together these two parts of the interpretation monitor project (interpretation monitor LAW and interpretation monitor LANGUAGE) will form the basis for policy development in the interpretation field, as well as the development of an accurate qualification offer in interpretation. The project is being announced for two years, and it will form the basis for a future regular interpretation monitor.
