To investigate fishing grounds, Fiskeridirektoratet [the Directorate of Fisheries] wants to hire fishing vessels that are rigged and suitable for efficient and practical implementation of missions, including catches and catch measurements. The hired vessel shall conduct surveys on fishing grounds for the Directorate of Fisheries, which will be administered and managed by the Directorate of Fisheries marine service headquartered in Tromsø. The hired vessel will be used to perform monitoring of fishing grounds. The vessel will carry out missions in the entire Fisheries protection zone around Svalbard, Smutthullet and the Norwegian exclusive economic zone. The service will be operated throughout the entire area and the vessel will follow ongoing fishing activity where Fiskeridirektoratet [the Directorate of Fisheries] wants a presence. The vessel must be associated with a prawn trawling license north of 62°N.
