Summer School Oslo is a free offer to children and youths in Oslo city. The offer supports schools' work with professional and social learning outside the ordinary school year. The summer school is characterised by an equal offer city-wide. The offer must consist of an extensive course that lasts for one week and is offered to all years from 1st – 10th years, and students in sixth form colleges. Our courses focus on wonder, exploration, and curiousness. Children and youths with the same interests from different schools can meet and together explore different topics. The topics must be future-orientated and relevant with a basis on what pupils learn at school.
The courses shall have a starting point in the target group 3rd - 10th years and sixth form colleges and are to consist of five-day courses within one of six areas. Course offers can be submitted on one or more of the areas.
The course package must consist of a ready developed course with clearly defined goals for the week.
In 2023, courses will be held in weeks 26, 27, 32 and 33.

Oslo Municipality, the Agency for Education, c/o Summer School Oslo, hereafter referred to as the contracting authority, extends an invitation to an open tender contest for the procurement of courses in Summer School Oslo 2023.
Summer School Oslo is one of Norway's largest events for children and youths.
In 2022 we offered approx. 17,000 pupil places split between 4 weeks of implementation. Pupils could choose between 63 different courses, and a total of 649 courses were held in 53 different locations city-wide, plus excursion locations and swimming.

The summer school is characterised by an equal offer city-wide. The offer must consist of an extensive course that lasts for one week and is offered to all years from 1st – 10th years and students in sixth form colleges, in the first two and last two weeks of the summer holiday. Our courses focus on wonder, exploration, and curiousness. Children and youths with the same interests from different schools can meet and together explore different topics. The topics must be future-orientated and relevant with a basis on what pupils learn at school. We want to motivate to more learning through fun and practical activities. We want learning to be fun!

- Language, tradition, and culture
- People, fellow citizenship, and city society
- Nature, environment, sustainability, and climate
- Technology and science
- Creative industry and cultural expression
- Course with vocational focus and preparation
