The invitation to tender applies to the procurement of 3 blood washing units for St. Olavs Hospital Trust (Norwegian abbreviation: STO), as well as an option for the delivery of 4 corresponding units during a period of 3 years and a framework agreement on equipment-specific consumables during the equipment's lifetime / as long as the equipment is in use.
The blood washing unit for autologous transfusion shall be used during operations and in situations where major haemorrhage is expected. The unit shall cleanse the blood and return the packed red blood cells to the patient. The blood washing unit shall safeguard the patient's own blood and thus reduces the transfusion of foreign blood.

The blood washing unit for autologous transfusion shall be used during operations and in situations where major haemorrhage is expected. The unit shall cleanse the blood and return the packed red blood cells to the patient. The blood washing unit shall safeguard the patient's own blood and thus reduces the transfusion of foreign blood.

The total estimated value, including options and equipment-specific consumables during the equipment's lifetime (10 years) is between NOK 6,800,000 – 7,600,000 excluding VAT.

The stated consumption/scope is an estimate for information to the tenderer, and is not binding for future contract volume.

The maximum value of the agreement, including equipment-specific consumables during the equipment's lifetime, is NOK 8,500,000, excluding VAT. If the maximum value or the scope of the contract are exceeded before the end of the contract period, the contracting authority will have an exclusive right to terminate the contract completely or partially.

The contracting authority expects that the lifetime will be approx. 10 years.
