Ocean Space Centre (OSC) shall be located at Tyholt in Trondheim, Norway. The Centre shall contain research and higher education institutions operating under one roof, seamlessly integrating basic and applied research areas in marine engineering and life sciences. Once completed, OSC shall consist of a unique selection of laboratories with simple and robust student laboratories, highly advanced laboratories for basic research, some of the world's largest hydrodynamic laboratories for large-scale and industrial research, and full-scale field laboratories in the fjord and marine areas outside Trondheim. All this combined with advanced computational and numerical facilities. The new laboratories shall replace the existing facilities currently located at Tyholt in Trondheim.
