The fast running carriage in the Rough Sea Pool (180 x 40 m) will be a secondary fast running carriage which will supplement the facility's larger tow carriage. The fast running carriage will primarily be used for towing and free-running propulsion testing of smaller high-speed models both in still water and in waves. The fast running carriage will also be used for propeller tests, tests of thrusters and turbines etc. More unconventional tests will also be carried out with this carriage. The fast running carriage sets strict requirements for functionality, acceleration and speed.
