The carriage system in the Sjøgang basin (180 x 40 m) will cover a large range of tests - traditional towing tank configurations, seaworthiness tests and manoeuvre tests. In addition, movement tests with the use of a hexapod and testing of moored installations, both above and below the water surface. The facility will also be used for testing other types of objects. Equipment modules must be easily attached to the undercarriage of the carriage system, which must be able to move over the water volume of the entire Rough Sea Pool. The carriage system must be equipped with a combined operator and spectator platform, and in addition ensure easy access for preparation and assembly of test objects. The trolley system makes strict demands in regards to precision and functionality.
