The concept Ocean Space Centre has been chosen for the renewal of the scientific marine laboratories at SINTEF Ocean, and the Marine Technology Department at NTNU in Trondheim. Statsbygg is responsible for the implementation of the Ocean Space Centre project, which will be implemented in close cooperation with SINTEF and NTNU.
The Ocean Space Centre will be located in Tyholt in Trondheim, Norway, and the laboratories will consist of wet laboratories such as Ocean Basin Laboratory and Sea Towing Basin Laboratory, as well as dry laboratories such as the site and machine laboratory. The wet laboratories will be used for testing fixed and floating installations and constructions in different wave, current, and wind conditions.

This contest covers the design, production, delivery, installation, and commissioning of wave generating units for Seakeeping and Manoeuvring Basin - SMB - at the new hydrodynamic laboratories - Ocean Space Centre - in Tyholt, Trondheim. The new wave generating units are to be delivered complete with a motorised, local control system, and interface with the centralised control system for the hydrodynamic laboratories.
