In October 2020 the Municipal Council in Voss decided to construct a new sports and school wing at Voss Secondary School. The project must be ready for the start of the school year in 2023, with completion on 31.07.2023 in accordance with the political decision.
Voss municipality will demolish the existing swimming pool and gymnastics hall at Voss Secondary School. A new school wing is to be constructed with 2 floors, as well as a gymnastics hall with measurements equivalent to a basketball court, and the accompanying changing room facilities.
Demolition of the existing swimming pool and gymnastics hall is part of the turnkey contract.
The project is estimated to NOK 110 million excluding VAT.

Demolition of the existing swimming pool and gymnastics hall is part of the turnkey contract.

The project is estimated to NOK 110 million excluding VAT.

Outside areas/play areas are to be developed by the building. The existing school area is to be upgraded and new outside areas are to be developed. An external shed is to be established to the east of the sports wing for user equipment.

A technical room is drawn in for the existing outside pool to the south of the new gymnastics hall. This technical room, including the technical equipment for the accompanying pool, is an option.

Gross area for the new building: 2780 m2 (including the technical room for the pool). In addition there is a free-standing outside shed of 57.5 m2.

The project is to be executed as a turnkey contract model with an interaction phase. There will be an interaction phase with Voss municipality and the users after the contract has been signed in order to get the final solutions in place. The project will be adjusted here to the financial limits. The contract sum will be locked when the project is finally defined as being in the interaction phase.

The project is subject to any political decisions in the Municipal Council in November/December 2021. The project is also subject to political approval and financing.

Consideration must be given to the school during the construction period.

Interaction.

An partnering phase is planned after the contract for the partnering phase has been entered into.

The partnering phase will be a final correction of the construction project, where the contracting authority, contractor, architect and users find the best solutions in a user, climate and economic perspective.

Good cooperation between the builder, turnkey contractor, and users of the building is very important. The process must allow good involvement and agreement on solutions that take the users into consideration, and ensure that the general goals in the project are within Voss municipality's financial limit.
