Molde Municipality currently has a contract with Istad Kraft for controlling our street lighting. This control system is old and has little functionality, and we now want to modernise the system. Since the contract with Istad Kraft is about to expire, Molde Municipality will procure their own control system.

This means that we must establish municipal electricity cabinets outside of Istad Krafts’ electricity cabinet. Molde Municipality currently has more than 7 000 street lights, divided between just under 200 circuits, which must be controlled.

The street lighting network currently consists of both older and newer fixtures, built in different eras both as regards the requirements concerning execution and components and light sources that have been available. In large parts of the system there are fixtures with environmentally damaging components replaced with LED fixtures, but we are not quite finished with the job. Molde Municipality wants to procure a management system that can be implemented with the existing street light installations. The municipality wants to put the residents in the center, adopt new technology, innovative methods, collaboration and co-creation to become more sustainable, attractive, productive and adaptable. Molde Municipality is part of the Smart City according to the programme. The municipality therefore wants to use load-bearing solutions and technology in an innovative manner.

Molde Municipality will and ought to be both socially responsible and a good example of energy economising measures.

This procurement process must therefore be seen in light of this. The goal of this procurement is to the aim of this procurement is to streamline and simplify operation, reduce costs and to at any given time have a good overview of the facility. By procuring a new and individual control system, Mole Municipality also wants to ensure a more reliable street lighting for the benefit of the municipality's residents.
