New Sørreisa School

The project concerns construction of a new building where the existing building D currently stands. This means that the existing building D must be demolished. Other buildings will be rehabilitated and adapted to the new school function.
Sørreisa school consists of a school part with a composite building mass with several building parts. In close proximity are the functions of sports and culture. The project shows a solution where the school part can function independently of the other functions. Hallways and communication routes regardless contribute to shared use working and there are shorter distances between the administration and other classrooms/group rooms. Goods delivery and waste management are located away from play areas, and are separated so that all functions can operate at the same time and individually, and with a possibility for co-use on weekends and evenings and are arranged as a future neighbourhood centre. The school will get a new entrance with a social area/canteen that will be the new heart of the new building, and can function for many purposes in the future of the school building.
