Fredrikstad kommune (Fredrikstad Municipality) will build a new main fire station in a new central location. A draft project will be initiated including the new station and associated training areas. In parallel, a project-adapted zoning plan will be prepared.

Based on the current fire station being too small and having poor flexibility for

Further development and functionality, it has been determined to investigate to start planning for the establishment of a new main fire station where three departments (the emergency department, the prevention department and the sweeping department) will be co-located at a new central location. At the time of the notice the new location had not been selected, but is expected to be chosen during Q3 2021.

The new fire station will contribute to the development of a sustainable society with a focus on efficient use of space and energy, environmentally friendly material use and utilisation of roof surfaces with green roofs, solar panels or other innovative use. Use of water resources will be optimised. The goal is to move into the new fire station in 2025.

The draft project will be based on the City Council's decision on 18 June 2020, KVU and associated annexes and other documentation, and develop the project further as the assignment description elaborates.
