The traffic safety measure is a collaboration project with the Agency for Water and Sewage that in addition to new waste water pipelines will establish a new water main in Lyngbøveien between Lyngbøveien 140 and 47.

The works will be carried out as a general contract according to NS 8405, and include establishing of among other things, a new footpath with a length of approx. 820 m. The works also include re-establishing of road and footpath, with point-by-point adjustment of the road's vertical geometry, length approx. 300 m.

Construction start depends on building application approval and economic financing of the procurement.

32 concrete structures will be established (concrete walls, stairs, capping and foundations) and approx. 600 m

• approx. 1 200 m new water main Ø150/Ø400 and associated bends, anchors and manholes;

• approx. 400 m new main waste water Ø300;

• approx. 800 m new main surface water pipeline Ø150/Ø300;

• approx. 60 m new branch lines Ø800 — Ø1400 and associated stream intake, two drill holes for Water and Sewage pipelines, and relocation of private branch lines for water and sewage.

The following will also be established:

• approx. 1 200 m new cable ditch, and new driveways to houses along the road. A bus gate will be established for Lyngbøtunet.

Lyngbøveien has been a bus route for line 16 as well as school buses on the stretch between Kringsjåveien and Nipedalen (Lyngbøveien north). Line 16 was shut down in May 2021 in expectation of the expansion of infrastructure measures in Lyngbøveien. Laksevåg has a new main line, line 6 from Lyngbø via central Bergen to Birkelundstoppen. Line 6 is connected to the new line 44 Nipedalen - Lyngbø - Gravdal. From Lyngbø, travellers can swap to line 6. In the construction phase for Lyngbøveien north, school buses will drive between Nipedalen via Lyngbø/Lyderhornsveien to Nygårdslien. When all works in Lyngbøveien north are complete, and the works in Lyngbøveien west begin, the bus route must be reinstated in Lyngbøveien north. Relocation will be coordinated in collaboration with Skyss. Works in Lyngbøveien west cannot begin before works in Lyngbøveien north are completed. The intersection Nipedalen/Lyngbøveien will remain open for buses in both of the construction phases. The bus gates will be opened when all construction work is completed. The development is divided into six construction phases.

Safety of soft road users will be safeguard during the entire construction phase, and pedestrian access to all residences along Lyngbøveien will be maintained at all times. There is also a requirement to maintain drivable access to Lyngbøtunet Bo og servicesenter (Lyngbøtunet Residence and Service Centre). Lyngbøveien must at all times have drivable access for emergency vehicles. Contractors must therefore have great focus on phase plans that safeguard this.

Contractors will set up information signs in the following locations along Lyngbøveien: At Nipedalen, Lyngbøtunet Residence and Service Centre, the stairs behind Laksevåghallen and at Nygårdslien with a map of the construction site, where pedestrian connections, busy areas and rigging sites are clearly marked.

The existing high voltage cable between Nipedalen and Nygårdslien (Lyngbøveien north) and Nipedalen and Lyderhornsveien (Lyngbøveien west) will be operative throughout the entire construction phase. The cable can be disabled either north or south of Lyngbøtunet when works here are carried out, but it must at all times be possible to reactivate the voltage of the cable. All works along the high voltage cable must be approved and coordinated with BKK. The existing overhead cables along the route must be kept, both in the construction phase and permanent situation. This concern overhead cables for BKK, Telenor and Bergen Fiber. The position of the existing posts will be adjusted. Lyngbøveien must have street lighting through the entire construction period.

Blasting or pigging will not be allowed in Lyngbøveien between profile 170 to 250. Here RV 555 (National Road 555) crosses the tunnel lanes and the portals. Removal of rock here can be done by hydraulic blasting. The incline down to the tunnel portals must be secure when works take place above/by the portals. Securing must be approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. If it is necessary to close the Damsgård tunnel, planned closing can take place between 22.00-5.30.
