Content Management System for Flytoget (the Airport Express Train) — Qualification

Flytoget has acquired eight new train sets (type 78) that are now being put into service. Flytoget also has 15 existing train sets (type 71). On-board in the trains there are information screens that will show relevant information to passengers.
Content that will be shown on the information screens can be divided into two categories:
— statistic content that will be fixed through one or more train journeys,
— dynamic content that will change during a train journey.
There will be various channels delivering content that will be shown on the screens (the list is not exhaustive):
— commercial advertisements,
— departure times for planes from Oslo Airport,
— waiting times at Oslo Airport security checks,
— news feed from news distributors,
— video with safety information.

Flytoget needs a supplier with a Content Management System (CMS) that can gather all of Flytoget’s partners who deliver statistic and dynamic content. The service provider will continually compile content that will be shown on-board in Flytoget's two train types. The content will be made available in the trains in the following ways:

— in type 78 via a Fleet Information Management server (FIM). The FIM server will communicate with the train in real-time,

— for type 71 there will be a need for a service provider able to deliver data with railway approved hardware to a DVI interface that sends data to all screens. Alternatively, Flytoget is considering obtaining railway approved hardware itself,

— on-board in the two train types there are display clients with differing technology. The service provider must be able to produce content adapted to both of the display clients.

Flytoget considers the information screens in the trains to be an exciting channel for contact with their customers. In time, other information channels will be added. Different information channels have different criteria for when content is shown, for example direction to or from Oslo Airport. The train position and direction will at all times be available through APIs from Flytoget's system for train management; Sanntid (Real-time).

Tenderers must be able to integrate in and to the train sets’ other functionality, for e.g. showing the next station.

NB: the final number of type 71 train sets is not clarified. The number can vary from 10 to 15 train sets.
