The aim of the assignment is to engage and mobilise civil society, as well as inspire municipalities and counties to cooperate with civil society in integration work.
It is important that municipalities develop good policies in order to ensure that everyone is included in school, work, and social life. Good inclusion in central life arenas contributes to maintaining a society that has small differences, a high degree of trust, and a good quality of life. Cultural life and other forms of recreational activities are important arenas for everyday integration and community based on diversity, equality, freedom of speech, and tolerance.

Approx. 63% of the Norwegian population actively participate in voluntary work. Civil society contributes to solving important social assignments through its work, also in the integration field.

Voluntary involvement comes from people's interests and involvement. The efforts that volunteers make to include refugees and immigrants are decisive for good integration. Voluntary organisations create arenas for friendship, activities, a sense of belonging, network, learning, and mastering through their involvement and community.

The Solberg II government's strategy 'Everyday integration - strategy for strengthening civil society's role in the integration field 2021-2024' states that civil society's role in integration work is to be strengthened.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has given IMDi the task of making a campaign aimed at civil society, municipalities, and counties. The assignment is as follows:

“A campaign is to be made, in, amongst other things, social media, which through short films, promotes civil society's role in integration work.

The films and campaigns must show good measures that have come from organisations and individuals in their input in this strategy. The intention of the measure is to involve and mobilise civil society, municipalities, and counties in integration work.
