Karmøy kommune

In summer 2019 Karmøy Municipality decided on a new waste strategy for the period 2019-2025. This is built on the following main pillars and involves a complete transformation of the waste collection service.
- Large improvement in the environmental aspect
- Cost efficient services
- It must be easy for inhabitants to sort their waste correctly. The strategy can be found at:

Kort beskrivelse:
The assignment includes the assembly, registration and delivery of waste containers to all households in Karmøy Municipality. The assignment also includes reception, quality assurance, and ensuring problem-free distribution in this assignment.
The main amount of containers will be 3 140 litre and 1 240 litre per household. We also have collection areas for residential units from 4 households to 60 households. These will have 660/1000 litre containers for residual waste and paper waste, 240/660 litre containers for glass and metal packaging, and 140 litre containers for food waste.

All households will also receive a food waste basket, which will be delivered with information, food waste bags, plastic return sacks, and tags.
Elastic for securing lids must be assembled on the 140, 240, and 370 litre containers. A gravitational lock must be assembled on the containers for glass and metal packaging, and the containers must be equipped with a lid-in-lid system. The containers will come ready assembled with a lid-in-lid and predrilled holes for gravitational lock.

All the containers must be assembled with the correct type of adhesive label. Fractions; residual waste, food waste, paper waste, and glass and metal packaging.
If they want, tenderers can try to assemble the containers before they submit a tender. This can be done at Sundvegen 35, 4250 Kopervik. A time can be agreed by email: esve@karmoy.kommune.no
Karmøy Municipality has delivered some 140 litre residual waste containers and 240 litre paper waste containers to households that have had their old containers damaged. (the amount is in annex 5), these are not included in the delivery plan. Karmøy Municipality has a contact person who will follow-up the project. If the contact person is absent for a short period, another contact person will be named. The contact person will quality assure all deliveries to the store, have weekly meetings with the contact person from the tenderer, as well as provide driving lists and labels.
