The new school building with four floors must be constructed in accordance with the passive house standard and it must be made of solid wood structures for all columns, most of the beams, surfaces, outer walls (climate-adaptive building shell) and a selected number of internal walls. The mid-section of the building shall contain a common room (‘Lysningen’) that goes over all floors. Technical ventilation rooms are located in the ground and second floors. Technical air conditioning systems are to be conveyed down in vertical shafts and distributed via main channels in the corridors. The mid-section of the building, in the longitudinal direction, the contracting authority is planning to construct low beams for good ability to navigate to technical plants above the ceiling. The gross area of the school is approx. 4 286 m
