The main delivery of the project is to develop a big data strategy for Jernbanedirektoratet [the Norwegian Railway Directorate] and the railway sector as a whole. In addition, road-maps and management plans will be developed in order to realise the strategy. The Norwegian Railway Directorate needs assistance to implement this process, so that the strategy takes necessary aspects into account in order to succeed.
The Norwegian Railway Directorate has additional need to acquire an overview of data in the sector (both Big and Dark Data) as described above, as well as develop a strategy for accessing and utilising the data.
The assignment will be implemented in close cooperation with the contracting authority. Close dialogue will be established with other Norwegian Railway Directorate projects and the contracting authority will contribute information to these projects.
