General description

Interaction contract The KA Building NMBU Ås

The objective and scope of the contract:

New extension and rehabilitation of the KA building at NMBU is a measure that follows the goals in the Campus plan 2019-2023-2040. One of the primary goals is i.a. To achieve a better co-localisation of students and employees at the Faculty for Landscape and Society (LANDSAM). The campus plan also places emphasis on all measures contributing to the creation of an attractive workplace and a desired educational institution. Furthermore, it is also a goal that the measure concerning new extensions at the KA building will contribute to the goal concerning 10 percent area efficiency of NMBU's buildings by 2023.

The parties will develop and erect the KA building at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Users of the building will be employees at LANDSAM and students in landscape architecture education. The existing buildings will be rehabilitated and primarily contain office premises for employees at LANDSAM, while the new student facilities will be connected to the existing buildings in the form of a new addition. The project aims to contribute to fulfil the government goal of climate neutral property activity in 2030. Therefore, the project must fulfil the requirements concerning BREEAM Excellent as long as possible, but without certification. If this is not possible due to budget or any other reasons, the project must fulfil the requirements concerning BREEAM Very Good, but without certification.

It is currently assumed that the project will be able to be implemented within a cost (construction cost) of NOK 60 million excluding VAT. Of this, NOK 28 million will go to the rehabilitation section.

The address of the building is Fredrik A. Dahls vei 15, 1433 Ås. The site is owned by NMBU.

The project has the following aims and impact goals:

• more co-located faculty and better area utilisation;

• more environmentally-friendly buildings, lower operational costs;

• improved working environment, more attractive workplace;

• increased/streamlined production;

• more maintenance-friendly building;

• freeing premises for other use;
