The National Library is the nation's memory bank and a multimedia knowledge centre. The National Library has the country's most complete collection of Norwegian-published material of all time. The collection spans the full range of media types, from paper and film to electronic media. The collection covers extensive unpublished material of significant cultural historical importance.
Being the only national library in Europe, the National Library has a goal of digitising all material in its collection over the next 10-15 years. The National Library is managed by the Director of the National Library, who has the main responsibility for planning, operating and developing the library's activities. The National Library is located in Oslo and Mo i Rana and has approx. 450 employees, who are organised in five departments and three staff units.

The National Library invites tenderers to an open call for tenders regarding a contract for inert air systems for the National Library's Automatic storages 1 and 2 in Rana. A complete system in accordance with NS-EN 16750 must be delivered. The system must contain necessary compressors, distributor racks complete with control valves, as well as detectors and internal piping to maintain inert atmosphere in the automatic storages.
