Hire of helicopters for geophysical measurements for mapping of geology and mineral resources in North Norway and in South Norway. The activity will be continued in 2020 and probably for a further 3 to 4 years. NGU requests tenders for the hire of helicopters, primarily for 2020, but with the option for continuation in 2021, 2022 and 2023 with an option to extend in 2024. The scope of the helicopter need in 2020 will be approx. 300 flying hours in total. For the next few years it is uncertain, but will probably be in the same range as for 2020. The scope in the next few years assumes continuation of grants. Tenders with valid tax certificates and HSE declarations should be labelled 'Helicopter Measurement 2020’ and delivered by 20.3.2020, 12.00.

Mapping of mineral resources in North Norway (MINN) and equivalent in South Norway (MINS). The activity will be continued in 2020 and probably for a further 3 to 4 years.
The flying in 2020 will be carried out by a helicopter that flies with a hanging probe that weights approx. 180 kg, this performs the magnetic and electromagnetic measurements. The probe is towed 30 metres under the helicopter. The equipment for radiometric measurements hangs in an individual frame under the helicopter. All instruments for processing and storing of data are mounted in a rack that is placed in the back seat by the side of the operator, this fills the entire back seat in the actual machine.

NGU will supply all of the geophysical measurement equipment, but the helicopter must be equipped with a radar altimeter that can be logged from our measuring equipment (Bendix King KRA 405B or similar), with 0-10V, 409mV/ft output signal. In addition, NGU must be able to mount their own GPS antenna on the tail tip of the helicopter. Magnetic and electromagentic sensors are placed in the 180 kg heavy probe that is towed 30 metres below the helicopter. The radiometric measurement equipment is mounted in an approved frame under the helicopter. Data and logging equipment is mounted in a separate rack that is placed behind the co-pilot seat in the helicopter cabin. The rack and operator required all of the space in the back of the helicopter cabin.
