Framework Agreement for Pharmaceutical Inspections for Østre Agder (1)

Arendal kommune

Østre Agder would like to enter into a framework agreement for pharmaceutical inspections. The contract period will be 1 year, with an option for an extension for 1 + 1 + 1 year. Each municipality will enter into separate contracts that will be independent of the contracts with other municipalities. Municipalities that will be obliged to comply with the contract are: Arendal, Froland, Risør, Grimstad, Vegårshei and Gjerstad. The contract has an estimated value of approx. 6 000 000 NOK in total for all years with all municipalities.

The overall aim of the pharmaceutical inspections is to contribute to good quality of the conditions that affect the medicamental treatment of patients. The main assignments will be connected to the supply, storage, handling and use of medicines in the public health service.

The pharmaceutical inspection will be a link in the unit's internal control and the inspecting pharmacists' assignment will be to contribute to the greatest amount of safety for patients and users. The inspecting pharmacists work for efficiency, safety and responsible finances in medicine therapy and medicine management.

Municipalities must ensure that the supply of medicines to the municipalities' health service is organised and run in accordance with the laws, regulations and other relevant provisions.
