Åstveit school is a lower secondary school in Åsane neighbourhood with address Tertnesveien 33, cadastral No 209, title No 184. The school has capacity for 400 students. In addition, the school has a reinforced department for students with special learning needs, this is for approx. 20 students, as well as a reception class of approx. 10 students. Åstveit School is divided into 3 zones; activity, teaching and administration. There is a lack of space at the school.

On the background of the lag of maintenance and upgrading of the administration building and the lack of space at the school, the Agency for Development (EFU) has received an order from the Department of Nursery Schools, Schools and Sports (BBSI) to study the possibilities of expanding the areas for the school in accordance with needs and to rehabilitate and rebuild the administration building. The possibility of a permanent traffic-safe solution in relation to reconstruction and extensions should also be investigated.

The architect for this assignment will prepare a feasibility study where the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the administration building will be seen in conjunction with the area need. The feasibility study will also contain cost calculations. The work will be executed in co-operation with the project team. It may be appropriate to investigate multiple alternative solutions, with cost calculations for the different alternatives.
