The assignment concerns the rehabilitation of the Sandefjord Sixth Form College buildings, and the possibility of a new building. The school will be in full operation during the rehabilitation. The existing buildings include several buildings that were built in the period 1956 to 2014. The total GFA is approx. 33 000 m.
Much of the school's functionality is outdated in relation to current offers and curriculum. This applies particularly to Engineering and Industrial Production with their own chemistry and process workshops and restaurant and food trade, with a large production kitchen, baking department and meat department that have little or no use. This, combined with disproportionately large common areas, means that the teaching areas are more cramped than the required number of square metres per student indicates. The majority of the school buildings are from the 1950's and the technical condition is relatively poor.

Rehabilitation of Sandefjord sixth form college is planned to be implemented as an interaction contract. The architect will be part of the interaction group and will contribute architectural work (ARK) in accordance with the area and function programme. From May, to and including August 2019, a preliminary project will be prepared based on the AFP. The preliminary project (interaction phase part I) forms the basis for an agreement on a target price, latest 2.9.2019, and which in turn will promote final political management at the end of September before further work can be initiated.
