UDI has the authority to establish a basic capacity of 2 850 places on a nationwide basis. It is planned that the basic capacity established will be distributed across all of the country’s regions, but a uniform distribution between the regions cannot be assumed. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration will procure parallel framework agreements in each region.
The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration will normally replace the capacity of expiring contracts and in other current operational contracts, with new contracts under the Framework Agreements. The Norwegian Directorate of immigration will cancel the current contracts after new contracts are established under the Framework Agreements.
Outside of the transit capacity, from 1.5.2019, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration will have 20 regular reception centres, 2 reception centres for single minors and 4 facilitated departments. The contracts for 4 of the regular reception centres expires in 2019.
The Framework Agreements will be signed for 6 years, and the Contracting Authority has the option to extend the contracts for a further 2 years + 2 years.
