Nofima BioLab is a task and research laboratory that offers chemical, microbiology and physical measurement analysis. The laboratory is located in Bergen and has approx. 25 employees. The quality system is based on the requirement standard ISO 17025 and the laboratory is accredited for a number of chemical and microbiology analyses. The accreditation number is TEST045 and the accreditation scope is described on Norsk Akkredtering's website: http://www.akkreditert.no/no/akkrediterte-organisasjoner/akkrediteringsomfang/?AkkId=137

The laboratory performs analysis services for both Norwegian and foreign companies and for Nofima’s own research activity. The testing scope is approx. 15 000 — 20 000 tests per year, that in turn are equivalent to 100 000 — 200 000 analyses per year. The laboratory offers more than 100 different methods, based both on standards and self developed (internal) methods. Nofima's general goal with this LIMS procurement is i.a.: streamlining lab administration such as:

Improve the follow-up of our quality control systems and procedures in accordance with SO 17025. Standardisation and development of data storage connected with data security, traceability and change log. Contribute to digitising all laboratory processes. Ensure continuous management information. Deliver LIMS communication with all of our analysis instruments. A LIMS system that makes it possible to improve/simplify data access and communication with our customers. Nofima has research laboratories in Tromsø, Ås, Bergen, Sunndalsøra and Stavanger. We are working to develop new analysis methods and processing and carry out a broad spectrum of analyses in multiple disciplines that i.a. Include analytical chemistry, chromatography spectroscopy, microbiology and molecular biology. There are engineers, researchers and research fellows in the research laboratories and the number of users of the ELN system option is estimated to be approx. 80 persons. The contracting authority will have the right, but not an obligation, to trigger the ELN option. The option is Nofima's estimate of future need.

Nofima wants delivery and commencement of implementation as soon as possible after the contract signing, and continual and speedy implementation. The tenderers must provide information regarding the progress plan for the delivery in connection with a description of the solution in related to the award criteria, cf. point 5 below. Specifications oft the delivery are in the tender documentation appendices.
