The works include the regulation, engineering design and construction for a mainland connection between Helgøy and Mosnes. Helgøy is situated in Hjelmeland municipality.
The project includes approx. 1,800 metres one lane road with meeting points, including the crossing of Helgøysundet (Helgøy strait) with a length of approx 250 metres in a straight line. The contractor must choose how the strait shall be crossed; by sea filling with a minimum entrance for small vessels in accordance with the sketch:
‘Minimumskrav seilløp’ (‘Minimum requirements sea lane’), combined filling/bridge, or bridge over the entire strait.
The strait that must be crossed has various depths. However, the deepest point of the strait is 29 metres.
A stretch of approx. 250 metres with rock cuts is located just north of the strait. The cut has different heights. However, the highest point is approx. 16 metres. At Helgøy the 340 metres road is completed up to the road's planum. The commenced road must be completed with a road development up to and including a surface of asphalt, completion of road ditches, side terrain, etc.
The project will be implemented model-based.

Helgøy is situated in Hjelmeland municipality and has a population of approx. 35 residents divided in 8 households. There are also approx. 20 holiday homes located at Helgøya. Access to the plant is situated at the mainland side (Mosnes) via fv. (County road) 634.

Documentation requirement:
Company registration certificate foreign tenderers shall instead submit equivalent certificates as prescribed in the legislation of the country where the tenderer is established.

Tenderers must have good economic and financial capacity to complete the contract.
