Edvard Munch Sixth Form College is one of the town's most popular colleges and it is to be expanded. The college offers art subjects, small trade subjects, dance and music, in addition to general studies. A decision has been made to move the Art Industry Museum to the new National Museum at Vestbanen, thus the plan is to expand Edvard Munch Sixth Form College (EM) by using the Art Industry Museum's premises.
The expanded college (EM sixth form college and KIM) will designed for a total of 1 230 pupils; an increase of 450 pupils and 54 employees. (96 in art — architecture and design subjects and 264 in general studies).
The contract will be executed with interaction in 2 phases, detailed engineering design services and execution respectively. The aim is that the college will be ready for the start of the academic year in August 2023.
