Development of Olav Kyrres Gate in Bergen

County road 585/E16 Olav Kyrres gate is currently one of Bergen's busiest areas for public transport stops and was last altered in the early 1990s. The street is now being improved with universal design and better accessibility for passengers and other pedestrians than what currently exists.
A new light rail from Fyllingsdalen will come into the centre, with a new end station in Kaigaten.
Before this work can start, the development of county road 585/E16 Olav Kyrres gate between Småstrandgaten and Vaskerelven must be completed. Olav Kyrres gate will be closed for ordinary traffic for approx. 1 year whilst the work is being carried out. The pavements and pedestrian crossings must be kept open.
Fire and ambulance stand-by services must have access throughout the entire construction period.

Before this work can start, the development of county road 585/E16 Olav Kyrres gate between Småstrandgaten and Vaskerelven must be completed. Olav Kyrres gate will be closed for ordinary traffic for approx. 1 year whilst the work is being carried out. The pavements and pedestrian crossings must be kept open.

Fire and ambulance stand-by services must have access throughout the entire construction period.

Before Olav Kyrres gate is closed, temporary traffic management measures must be established in junctions, new bus routes, temporary and permanent bus stops for scheduled buses, as well as temporary bus stops for the airport express bus, the bus to Ulriken, etc., in other streets in the centre. Temporary routes will be established for goods deliveries to the shops in Olav Kyrres gate and possibly reversing areas that will be manned by a traffic warden in the period when goods deliveries are allowed. The lane for turning right in J.O.Brocksgate will be temporarily extended by approx. 75 m.

After the work in Olav Kyrres gate has been completed and taken into use, the temporary measures on and along other streets in the centre must be removed.

Olav Kyrres gate is approx. 380 m long and the street's profile will be altered as regards the current profile. Parts of the current lanes will be altered to new stops for public transport and the pavements will be expanded. A smooth surface must be laid on approx. 1,5 m width along the street (on the side by the town park). There will not be a marked cycle lane in the street.

Universal design will form the basis for the chosen solutions and choice of materials.

The contract includes an option for the use of draining concrete in the superstructure, with/without basalt fibre.

Tenderers must be a legally established company.

Documentation requirement:

Company Registration Certificate Foreign tenderers can submit an equivalent certificate in accordance with the legislation in the tenderer's country of establishment.

Tenderers shall have good economic and financial capacity to fulfil the contract and shall fulfil the following requirements:

Amongst other things, the tenderer's annual financial statements, annual report and audit report for the last 3 years, and recent information (quarterly accounts) which is of importance to the tenderer's fiscal figures.

Teknisk og faglig kapasitet:

Tenderers shall have sufficient experience with assignments of a corresponding nature and degree of difficulty.

NPRA and other builders' experiences with the tenderer will be appraised implementation ability, i.e. manpower and capacity, as well as competence and experience of the key personnel will be assessed.

Tenderers must have a system for proactive compliance of health, safety and the working environment. The H1 value must be given.
