The schools are located at Falkeveien 14-16 and have Nadderud Arena, Nadderudhallen and the new Bekkestua Primary School as their closest neighbours. The school buildings (blocks A and B) are originally from 1968, but the building stock was partly rehabilitated internally in 2012/2013. In connection with the rehabilitation, a new breezeway was established, linking the 2 blocks together.

The most optimum solution will be assessed in the interaction phase, which keeps as much as possible of the existing building stock, and, at the same time, is the most cost-efficient solution.
The project will be implemented as an interaction contract in 2 phases.
The school will be used as a neighbourhood centre, which will be regularly used outside school hours. The outside area will be upgraded and made attractive for youths' physical development and activity, so that the school playground attracts pupils to outside activities in breaks and the surrounding neighbourhood outside ordinary opening hours. The activity offer will, thereby, supplement and complete the outside areas for Bekkestua primary school, so that the area, when seen as a whole, is a meeting place for all residents in the neighbourhood.

The new building must be planned so that it can achieve Breeam Nor certification, with an option for actual certification. All construction projects in Bærum Municipality must comply with the climate strategy's action plan. Assessments connected to the different elements in the action plan must be followed-up and assessed in phase 1. The existing energy centre in Nadderudhallen will supply Bekkestua Secondary School with both local heating and local cooling. Heating/cooling pipes have already been laid in the ground to the site border for Bekkestua Secondary School. The project must also comply with the seriousness requirements that the municipality has formulated (Annex 21).

A temporary pavilion building in the school playground for Bekkestua Secondary School is to be removed by another contractor in summer 2019. The turnkey contractor's work includes clearing up the infrastructure for the pavilion building.
Bekkestua Secondary School will temporarily move into external premises during the execution phase. The school will be run in the existing premises until the autumn break in 2019 at the latest (week 40). From week 41, 2019, the turnkey contractor will have free access to the building stock to start his work.

The development plan for the joint school site for both Bekkestua Primary School and Bekkestua Secondary School was completed in 2016. The development of Bekkestua Primary School and the accompanying outside areas will be completed for the start of the academic year 2019.
